📲 Step 1: Download Ledger Live
Ledger Live is your gateway to managing digital assets. It connects your hardware wallet to your computer or mobile device.
- 💻 Download for desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- 📱 Available on Google Play and App Store
Once installed, open Ledger Live and click "Get Started".
⚙️ Step 2: Initialize Your Device
When you power on your Ledger for the first time:
- ➕ Choose: Set up as new device
- 🔢 Create a secure 4–8 digit PIN code
- 🧠 Write down the 24-word recovery phrase (DO NOT lose this!)
- ✅ Confirm the recovery phrase using the device prompts
Ledger never stores your phrase. If lost, access to funds is permanently gone.

Security is at the heart of Ledger. Follow these essential tips:
- 🛑 Never share your recovery phrase
- 🌐 Only use the official site: https://ledger.com/start
- 🧑💻 Avoid browser extensions or third-party apps
- 💡 Verify transaction addresses on your Ledger screen
- 🔁 Keep your firmware and Ledger Live app up to date
💳 Step 4: Add Crypto Accounts
Once your device is initialized, you can begin adding crypto accounts inside Ledger Live:
- 🔍 Open Ledger Live and navigate to Accounts
- ➕ Click "Add Account" and select the desired coin (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum)
- 🔗 Connect your Ledger device and open the relevant app
- 📥 Your wallet address will appear securely on-screen
🌍 Connect to Web3 & DeFi
Ledger® allows you to interact with decentralized applications (DApps) like Uniswap, Compound, and OpenSea. Use Ledger Live or connect via WalletConnect or MetaMask (configured to work with Ledger).
DeFi opens up borrowing, lending, staking, NFTs, and more — securely signed with your hardware wallet.
Always confirm all interactions using your Ledger screen.
